Crashy Trains
What’s new

Changelog

New features, thoughtful fixes, and small improvements to Crashy Trains.

Send a train to a friend Latest

A Train Builder design can now travel in one private link.

  • Share the train's family, paint, face, parts, horn, wagons, weight, name, and direction.
  • Open the gift in a free fleet slot without replacing an existing train.
  • Land directly in Train Builder to inspect it, change it, and make it yours.
  • Keep every hand-drawn face private on the device where it was created.

Smoother worlds and trustworthy track editing

The railway now looks richer and behaves more like the direct drawing tool it was meant to be.

  • Explore smoother shorelines, faceted mountain ranges, geometric clouds, and reflective water.
  • See every face centered correctly on Steam, Bullet, Tram, and Diesel trains.
  • Erase tiny or long rail sections, continue from either green endpoint, and undo one complete gesture at a time.
  • Block overlapping trains, derail naturally from open ends, and build coherent fixed-diamond crossings.

Shape bigger hills and smoother loops

Coaster shaping now uses one direct, responsive height control.

  • Pull hills as high as 80 units with half-unit precision.
  • Drag loop height from 8 to 60 while watching the rails update live.
  • Select an existing loop to resize it instead of rebuilding it.
  • Build smoother teardrop loops with clean entry and exit joins.

Build trains from every angle

Train Builder is now an interactive inspection space with clearer, more expressive faces.

  • Drag to rotate the train, then scroll or pinch to zoom.
  • Jump to a close face view or reset to the full train.
  • Keep your chosen angle while changing parts, paint, and locomotive family.
  • Choose among six personalities with distinct eyes, brows, cheeks, and smiles.

Faces that fit every train

Each locomotive family now carries the same friendly personality in a face designed for its shape.

  • Give Steam a warm brass-ringed face.
  • See a streamlined Bullet display, transit-style Tram panel, and riveted Diesel badge.
  • Change family or paint and watch the face picker and live train update together.
  • Keep all six expressions and any face you drew or uploaded.

Finish open tracks more easily

Green endpoints now work exactly where they appear, from any camera angle.

  • Select an open rail and choose Continue this track.
  • Drag from either visible green endpoint, including on elevated terrain.
  • Extend an unfinished line in several strokes, then finish it as one connected railway.
  • Read the complete building instruction on desktop and phone.

Track menus stay steady

Quickly clicking the same track again now replaces its menu cleanly.

  • Open a drawn track’s menu with one click or a double-click.
  • Move directly between track menus without interrupting the playground.
  • Keep the railway and saved designs untouched throughout.

Build routes between living places

Mountain, Coast, and City now give every railway somewhere memorable to go.

  • Build toward villages, quarries, lodges, harbors, lighthouses, fairs, terminals, factories, and old towns.
  • Place stations near landmarks to give them the destination’s name and color.
  • Carry passengers on named journeys between places.
  • Keep every island responsive with terrain-safe landmarks and lightweight detail levels.

Build a train piece by piece

Train Builder gives each engine real parts you can mix while the railway keeps moving.

  • Choose fronts, roof equipment, wheels, lights, couplers, wagons, and decals.
  • Move between simple Style, Parts, and Setup sections.
  • See every choice immediately in the 3D preview and on the running train.
  • Keep the exact look of trains customized in earlier versions.

Erase rails as naturally as drawing them

Track editing now works like a live brush, with a choice for what trains do after leaving the rail.

  • Drag Erase across only the section you want to remove.
  • Redraw immediately from the exposed green endpoints.
  • Undo the complete erase stroke in one step.
  • Choose Burst, Keep sliding, or Reverse after a crash.

Trains that react

Friendly faces are now part of each locomotive and respond to what happens on the railway.

  • Watch trains blink, work uphill, wait at signals, celebrate passengers, and react to close calls.
  • See a round steam face, diesel badge, tram windshield, or bullet-train display.
  • Hear restrained steam, diesel, electric, and high-speed accents.
  • Keep custom faces still recognizable, with reduced motion honored everywhere.

Trains you can tell apart

Each train now arrives with a clearer look and a more direct path to personalization.

  • Meet distinct Steam, Diesel, Tram, and Bullet silhouettes.
  • See coordinated wagons, trim, weight, and horn character.
  • Tap a train’s face to edit its face; use the three-dot menu for everything else.
  • Keep any Train Workshop choices you already made.

Load the railway faster

The game now starts with less to download and makes repeat visits lighter.

  • Load optional editors and galleries only when you open them.
  • Cache versioned game files safely between visits.
  • Always check for the latest game page without serving stale releases.
  • Keep the complete one-file offline version available.

Build a connected railway

Tracks can now stay open, connect, branch, and keep their identity as the railway grows.

  • Finish an open line or connect a new section to a green endpoint.
  • Run trains, signals, and block sections across connected edges.
  • Place switches only where rails physically meet in 3D.
  • Share the complete topology with new TCP2 design codes.

Meet the Train Workshop

Build a train whose engine, wagons, and colors belong together.

  • Choose Steam, Bullet, Tram, or Diesel families.
  • Mix paint presets with separate body and trim colors.
  • See every change in one live 3D preview.
  • Keep trains moving while their appearance changes.

Edit one piece of track

Reshape a railway without starting the whole drawing again.

  • Select and replace one short section with Erase.
  • Reconnect smoothly from either green endpoint.
  • Keep trains and everything outside the edit safely in place.
  • Undo the complete section change in one step.

A clearer welcome

The website is cleaner, faster to understand, and easier to navigate.

  • Introduced a crisp, unfaded game preview in the homepage hero.
  • Added a simpler, recognizable locomotive logo.
  • Improved support-page copy and navigation.
  • Added this changelog and a private feedback form with attachments.

More reliable railways

Track building is more dependable across different terrain and ambitious layouts.

  • Improved clearance across hills, loops, canyons, and generated tracks.
  • Strengthened safeguards for tight turns and overlapping rails.
  • Kept legacy saved layouts working.
